Music Department

The Intermediate Orchestra provides string students with an in-depth study of orchestral repertoire at the intermediate to advanced level.  This class is open to 9^th – 12^th graders.  Students must be proficient on their instrument; this class is not for beginners.  No audition is required.  Students who do not audition, or who are not offered a spot in Advanced Orchestra, will be placed in Intermediate Orchestra.  Students will strengthen their technical skills and gain valuable experience in ensemble playing and performing.  Participation in this ensemble will prepare students to audition for the Advanced Orchestra.  This ensemble earns high marks at the SCSBOA festival each year and often advances to the SCSBOA regional competition.
